As a non-profit outreach ministry of Tay Valley Evangelistic Association Inc., Tay Valley Bible Camp was established to demonstrate and proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ to unreached boys and girls, to build the faith of Christ's followers, and to equip those seeking to serve God, through excellence in Christian camping.
Historical Sketch:
It all began in the late fifties when founders, Rev. Norwood Brawn and his wife Jean, of Fredericton, NB, started their search for an old lumber camp to use in reaching young people for Christ.
In their search they found instead, an old deserted homestead, for sale at the time, along the Tay River. Only a porcupine ridden farm house remained standing on the 15 acre parcel of land. It was purchased, and fulfillment of the Brawn's vision of Tay Valley Bible Camp began.
The camp has continued to grow and change throughout the years. Now over fifty years later, many buildings have been added and changes in technology have taken place. Tay Valley Bible Camp is still a needed oasis in a very busy world, and the many people who pass through its gates each year appreciate the vision of Norwood and Jean Brawn.
